I am currently working on a new series of paintings focused on nature and capturing as much of it as possible due to the rapid decline of our environment. Many of you might remember a series I opened at Ferrari Gallery in March 2018 titled, Water & Ice. One of my most popular paintings from this series was, The Last Iceberg, pictured above. I met and spoke to numerous scientists and actual people who have spent years of their life in Antarctica. This painting just came to me after watching a video about John Alexander, a famous and popular Texas artist, who currently lives in NY. In the video, he talked about a painting titled the Five Owls. He said someday there will not be anymore owls. That statement made me think, what if one day there is only one iceberg left.
I feel we are not separate from nature. When we see ourselves as part of nature, then saving nature is really about saving ourselves.
